''The Abominable Showman'' is the fourth solo album by British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe, released in 1983. The album was out of print for two decades until being reissued on CD and vinyl by Yep Roc Records on 14 July 2017. The reissue contained three bonus tracks. John David "Moon" Martin (October 31, 1945 – May 11, 2020) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Career Born in Altus, Oklahoma, United States, Martin gained recognition in the 1970s as a pop artist and composer. Originally a rockabilly artist, he wrote the songs "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)", made famous by the English singer Robert Palmer, and "Cadillac Walk", made famous by the American singer Willy DeVille. Martin scored five minor hits of his own with "Rolene" (No. 30 US, No. 77 Australia), "No Chance" (No. 50 US), both in 1979, "Signal For Help" (No. 60 Australia) in 1981, "X-ray Vision", (No. 99) and "Aces For You" (No. 95) both in Australia in 1982. Keith Morris (photographer)
Keith Morris (15 August 1938 – 17 June 2005) was an English rock photographer. Morris was responsible for several iconic images of Marc Bolan. He photographed musical figures including Led Zeppelin, Van der Graaf Generator, Janis Joplin, Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson, The Albion Band, B. B. King, Jimi Hendrix, John Cale, Fred Astaire and album covers such as ''Pictures at an Exhibition'' by ELP. With the new wave of the late 1970s, Morris also photographed The Damned, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Nick Lowe, The Kursaal Flyers and Dr. Feelgood. Career Morris was born in Wandsworth, south west London in 1938 and he studied photography at the Guildford School of Art. He was inaccurately known in the music industry as the only professional to have photographed Nick Drake before his death in 1974. Robert Kirby (16 April 1948 – 3 October 2009) was a British-born arranger of string sections for rock and folk music. He was best known for his work on the Nick Drake albums, ''Five Leaves Left'' and ''Bryter Layter'', but also worked with Vashti Bunyan, Elton John, Ralph McTell, Strawbs, Paul Weller and Elvis Costello. Early life He was educated at Bishop's Stortford College an independent school in Hertfordshire, and then Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Cambridge University Patrick Humphries' book ''Way To Blue'' gives some details of Kirby's time at university. He sang in a group called 'The Gentle Power of Song'. Martin Belmont (born 21 December 1948) is an English rock and country-blues guitarist, best known for being a founding member of Graham Parker & The Rumour. Life and career Belmont was born in Bromley, Kent, England. After working as a roadie for Brinsley Schwarz, in 1972 he formed Ducks Deluxe, issuing two albums on RCA. In 1975 he was a founding member of Graham Parker and the Rumour, who released six albums, and of The Rumour who recorded another three on their own.
