The 8th Habit
'' The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness'' is a book written by Stephen R. Covey, published in 2004. It is the sequel to ''The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People'', first published in 1989. The book clarifies and reinforces Covey's earlier declaration that "Interdependence is a higher value than independence." This book helps its readers increase the dependence of themselves and others. ;8 - Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs: ''The eighth habit is'' ''"Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs."'' Voice is Covey's code for "unique personal significance." Those who inspire others to find theirs are the leaders needed now and for the future, according to Covey. Stephen Covey
Stephen Richards Covey (October 24, 1932 – July 16, 2012) was an American educator, author, businessman, and keynote speaker. His most popular book is '' of Highly Effective People''. His other books include '' First Things First'', ''Principle-Centered Leadership'', ''The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families'', , and ''The Leader In Me: How Schools and Parents Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness, One Child at a Time''. In 1996, ''Time'' magazine named him one of the 25 most influential people. He was a professor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University at the time of his death. Social Comparison Theory
Social comparison theory, initially proposed by social psychologist Leon Festinger in 1954, centers on the belief that there is a drive within individuals to gain accurate self-evaluations. The theory explains how individuals evaluate their own opinions and abilities by comparing themselves to others in order to reduce uncertainty in these domains, and learn how to define the self. Comparing oneself to others socially is a form of measurement and self assessment to identify where an individual stands according to their own set of standards and emotions about themselves. A moral (from Latin ''morālis'') is a message that is conveyed or a lesson to be learned from a story or event. The moral may be left to the hearer, reader, or viewer to determine for themselves, or may be explicitly encapsulated in a maxim. A moral is a lesson in a story or in real life. Discipline refers to rule following behavior, to regulate, order, control and authority. It may also refer to punishment. Discipline is used to create habits, routines, and automatic mechanisms such as blind obedience. It may be inflicted on others or on oneself. Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall (german: Berliner Mauer, ) was a guarded concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin and East Germany (GDR). Construction of the Berlin Wall was commenced by the government of the GDR on 13 August 1961.
