The 100 Greatest Films of Argentine Cinema (Spanish: ''Las 100 mejores películas del cine argentino''), also known as the Survey of Argentine cinema (Spanish: ''Encuesta de cine argentino''), are a series of opinion polls carried out to establish a list of the greatest films of Argentine cinema of all time. The original survey was carried out by the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken in the years 1977, 1984, 1991 and 2000. In 2022, a new edition was held, organized by the film magazines ''La vida útil'', ''Taipei'' and ''La tierra quema'', with support from INCAA, the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the FestiFreak International Film Festival of La Plata, the Casa de la Cultura of General Roca and the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken. In the 1977 and 1984 lists, '' Prisioneros de la tierra'' (1939) by Mario Soffici reached first place, while '' Crónica de un niño solo'' (1965) by Leonardo Favio was the most voted in 2000. Fuad Jorge Jury (28 May 1938 – 5 November 2012), better known by his stage name Leonardo Favio (), was an Argentine singer, actor and filmmaker. He is considered one of Argentina's best film directors and one of the country's most enduring cultural figures, as well as a popular singer-songwriter throughout Latin America. Much beloved in Latin America, Favio was one of the most successful Argentine singers in the 1960s and 1970s, with big hits like (with Carola Leyton), , , , , , , , , , , and . The screenplay, written by Sergio Leonardo, was based on a novel by journalist Adolfo Jasca. The film stars Carlos Cores as a journalist with an inferiority complex who partners with a Hungarian immigrant, played by Vassili Lambrinos, in a fraudulent get-rich-quick scheme that leads to crime and tragedy. ''Waiting for the Hearse'' (''Esperando la carroza'' in Spanish) is a 1985 Argentine comedy film directed by Alejandro Doria. It is considered a cult film. It opened on 6 May 1985. The story belongs to the ''criollo'' grotesque ( costumbrismo) genre or black comedy. Raymundo Gleyzer
Raymundo Gleyzer (September 25, 1941 - missing since May 27, 1976) was an Argentine screenwriter and filmmaker. He specialized in documentaries and politically charged fiction films. Gleyzer was part of the left-wing faction of the Peronist political movement, and a staunch opponent of Argentina's last military dictatorship (1976-1983). In 1976 he was kidnapped, likely murdered and disappeared as part of the dictatorship's campaign of State-sponsored terrorism. Biography Born into a Argentine Jewish family in Buenos Aires, Gleyzer became interested in politics and film early on in his life. From the start of his career he designed all of his films to be centered on the fight against social injustice and for political revolution in Latin America's countries. Kirchnerism
Kirchnerism ( es, Kirchnerismo ) is an Argentine political movement based on populist ideals formed by the supporters of Néstor Kirchner and his wife Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who consecutively served as Presidents of Argentina. Although considered a branch of Peronism, it is opposed by some factions of Peronists and generally considered to fall into the category of left-wing populism.
