Thawit Klinprathum
Thawit Klinprathum ( th, ทวิช กลิ่นประทุม, alternatively transcribed as ''Dewitt'' or ''Thavich Klinpratoom''; 9 February 1931 – 26 July 2006) was a Thai politician. In the mid-1970s, he was the leader of the conservative and pro-military Social Justice Party. Thawit was an ally of the military rulers Thanom Kittikachorn and Praphas Charusathien who were deposed during the democratic uprising of October 1973. From March 1975 to February 1976, he was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture in the coalition government of M.R. Kukrit Pramoj. During the government participation, Thawit developed a conflict with defence minister Pramarn Adireksarn of the Thai Nation Party, whom he attacked for manipulating the list of appointments of high-rank officers. Social Justice Party (Thailand)
The Social Justice Party ( th, พรรคธรรมสังคม, ) was a political party in Thailand. It existed in the short phase after the democratic uprising in 1973 until 1976. Although not having a strong ideological orientation, it was mostly considered conservative and right-wing. The party had strong backing from circles inside the military, and represented the interests of General Krit Srivara and Air Marshal Dawee Chullasap. It was led by Thawit Klinprathum, who was close to former military dictators Thanom Kittikachorn and Praphas Charusathien. The party was one of the main parties in the parliamentary elections of 1975 and 1976. In 1975 it won 45 of the 269 seats, making it the second-strongest party. Chatichai Choonhavan
Chatichai Choonhavan ( th, ชาติชาย ชุณหะวัณ, , ; 5 April 1920 – 6 May 1998) was a Thai army officer, diplomat and politician. From 1986 to 1991, he was the chairman of the Thai Nation Party and served as the Prime Minister of Thailand from August 1988 until the coup d'état of February 1991. Family Chatichai was the only son of Field Marshal Phin Choonhavan and ''Khunying'' Wibunlak Choonhavan. He was of Thai Chinese descent with ancestry from Chenghai District of Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China. His father was the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army from 1948 to 1954 and exerted a strong influence on the country's politics and economy. Chatichai had four sisters. Recognition is the process in some jurisdictions whereby a man is recognised as the father of a child in situations of no presumption of paternity, generally because the mother is unwed. Historically, the Roman law principle of ''mater semper certa est'' (the mother is always certain) causes the action was not available to mothers, but the introduction of in-vitro fertilisation has changed that to change. Democrat Party (Thailand)
The Democrat Party ( th, พรรคประชาธิปัตย์; ) is a Thai political party. The oldest party in Thailand, it was founded as a royalist party, and now upholds a conservative and pro-market position. The Democrat Party made its best showings in parliament in 1948, 1976, and 1996. It has never won an outright parliamentary majority. The party's electoral support bases are southern Thailand and Bangkok, although election results in Bangkok have fluctuated widely. Dawee Chullasap
Dawee Chullasapya or Chullasap ( th, ทวี จุลละทรัพย์, , , 8 August 1914 – 18 May 1996) was a Royal Thai Air Force officer, and a member of the Seri Thai. Air chief marshal Dawee was widely considered a pillar of Thailand's sporting world. After a successful career in the military which saw him rise to Supreme Command chief of staff in 1961, he turned to politics and was appointed deputy defense minister in 1963. He later served as minister of transport and communications and of agriculture. Head of Thailand's National Olympic Committee for 22 years until his death, he was a member of the International Olympic Committee and a force behind the Southeast Asian Games. Dawee himself won a silver medal in sailing at the 1970 Asian Games.
