''That's Country'' was a New Zealand country and western television variety show, broadcast between 1980 and 1984 on TVNZ. The Show was hosted by Ray Columbus and featured local as well as international talent. Local talent included Ritchie Pickett, Peter Posa, Suzanne Prentice, Patsy Riggir and the Topp Twins. American artist Emmylou Harris and Dobie Gray also performed on the show. Dobie Gray (born Lawrence Darrow Brown; July 26, 1940 – December 6, 2011) was an American singer and songwriter whose musical career spanned soul, country, pop, and musical theater. His hit songs included " The 'In' Crowd" in 1965 and "Drift Away", which was one of the biggest hits of 1973, has sold over one million copies and remains a staple of radio airplay. The Nashville Network
The Nashville Network, usually referred to as TNN, was an American country music-oriented cable television network. Programming included music videos, taped concerts, movies, game shows, syndicated programs, and numerous talk shows. On September 25, 2000, after an attempt to attract younger viewers failed, TNN's country music format was changed and the network was renamed '' The National Network'', eventually becoming Spike TV in 2003 and Paramount Network in 2018. Emmylou Harris (born April 2, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter and musician. The Topp Twins (born 14 May 1958) are the folk singing and activist sister comedy duo of New Zealand entertainers Jools and Lynda Topp. They are known for their country music influenced style, live shows and television performances. They often perform as characters, the most notable being the roles ''Ken & Ken'', and ''Camp Mother & Camp Leader''. Career The Topp Twins have performed as a country music-singing comedy duo since the 1970s. They started singing together and performing when they were children. Patsy Evelyn Ann Riggir (born 6 October 1945) is a New Zealand country and western singer and songwriter. She was a regular performer on the New Zealand Country and Western television show '' That's Country'', had her own show ''Patsy Riggir Country'' in 1986, and has appeared on various shows including the '' Ralph Emery Show'', the ''Fan Fair International Show'' and the ''Grand Ole Opry''. Biography Riggir was born in the South Waikato town of Arapuni, and was educated at Te Kuiti School, and Te Kuiti and Putaruru High Schools. She entered several talent quests and sang on IXH Hamilton aged 5, but then gave up singing until she joined the local country music club in 1974.
