Thana is the biggest city of Malakand District. The name is derived from the Pashto word "Thanrha" which means "Place Of Courting", and was a main political center during the tribal period. Thana, Kannur
Thana is a commercial center in the city of Kannur in Kerala, South India. It is a main Commercial center and junction in NH 66 (National Highway 66) within Kannur Municipal Corporation. From this junction the highway proceeds south to Thalassery, and proceeds north towards Taliparamba. The road to east goes to Kakkad, and the road to west goes to the Kannur old City. Thane district (Pronunciation: ʰaːɳe previously named Taana or Thana) is a district in the Konkan Division of Maharashtra, India. At the 2011 Census it was the most populated district in the country, with 11,060,148 inhabitants; however, in August 2014 the district was split into two with the creation of a new Palghar district, leaving the reduced Thane district with a 2011 Census population of 8,070,032. The headquarters of the district is the city of Thane. Thana Bhawan is a small town in Shamli district (formerly part of Muzaffarnagar district) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. District Shamli is a newly constructed district. Before becoming a new district, it came under district Muzaffarnagar and was well known tehsil of it. It was known as Prabuddhnagar first time, when this district came into focus.
