Thambathyam
''Thambathyam'' () is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by K. Vijayan and produced by T. S. Kalyani. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Ambika and Radha. It is a remake of the Telugu film '' Dampatyam''. Plot Dr. Sathyamoorthy is a renowned heart surgeon with a loving wife, Janaki, as well as two daughters, Jyothi and Aruna. Janaki's father also lives with the family. Janaki is the loving but forgetful matriarch and the family abides by her wishes in most things. Jyothi falls for an aspiring lawyer. Aruna is a reporter who falls in love with inspector Venkatesh who's searching for his sister Latha's murderer. Sathyamoorthy and Janaki approve of their daughters respective loves and arrange the weddings. While wedding shopping, Sathyamoorthy runs into Jaggu an old acquaintance with an ax to grind. Ambika is an Indian actress known for her works predominantly across the entire the southern film industry films and in several teleserials. Udaya Chandrika, better known by her screen/stage name Radha (born 3 June 1965), is an Indian actress, who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu films in addition to a few Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. Manoj–Gyan was an Indian musical duo consisting of composers Manoj Bhatnagar and Gyan Varma. In the 1980s, the two collaboratively composed music for a few Hindi-language as well as Tamil-language films. Manoj hails from the state of Uttar Pradesh, while Gyan is from Punjab. About In the 1980s the duo ended up composing for movies like Oomai Vizhigal, Senthoora Poove and Inaindha Kaigal, and these movies had several hit songs. In particular, the song "Tholvi Nilayena Ninaithal" sung by P B Srinivas in the movie Oomai Vizhigal became a runaway hit. Pandiyan (5 January 1959 – 10 January 2008) was an Indian actor and politician who acted in lead roles in about 75 Tamil films from 1983 to 1992 and supporting roles from 1993 to 2001. Career Pandiyan was selling bangles in his family owned jewellery shop in Madurai, India when he was spotted by director Bharathiraja who offered him the lead role in the film ''Mann Vasanai'' (1983) which became a box-office hit.
