Thalía (1990 Album)
''Thalía'' is the eponymous debut solo studio album by Mexican singer Thalía. It was produced by Alfredo Diaz Ordaz and released in Mexico on 9 October 1990, by Fonovisa Records. The album consisted of songs inspired in the 1980s rock, disco, pop, and ballads style. The first two singles "Un Pacto Entre Los Dos" and "Saliva" were highly controversial due to their suggestive lyrics, but were nonetheless highly successful, and are now considered Thalía's classics along with "Amarillo Azul" and "Pienso En Ti". To celebrate Thalía's 25 anniversary as a solo artist, this album is available in the digital platforms iTunes and Spotify since December 2014. ''Thalía'' was certified 2× Gold in Mexico in 1991 and sold over 200,000 units there. ''Siempre en Domingo'' (translated ''Always on Sunday'') is a Mexican variety show created and hosted by Raúl Velasco. The show aired on Televisa from December 14, 1969 until April 19, 1998 when Velasco retired. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or ''ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. They were widely used across Europe, and later in Australia, North Africa, North America and South America. Ballads are often 13 lines with an ABABBCBC form, consisting of couplets (two lines) of rhymed verse, each of 14 syllables. Flower Power
Flower power was a slogan used during the late 1960s and early 1970s as a symbol of passive resistance and nonviolence. It is rooted in the opposition movement to the Vietnam War. The expression was coined by the American Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1965 as a means to transform war protests into peaceful affirmative spectacles. Sasha Marianne Sökol Cuillery (born 17 June 1970) is a Mexican singer, composer, actress and television presenter. Biography Sökol was born in Mexico City. When she was still a toddler, her parents (Michael "Happy" Sökol and Magdalena Cuillery) divorced and her mother married Fernando Diez Barroso, an executive at Televisa. As a child, she was known as Sasha Diez Barroso, but now goes by her paternal name, Sökol. She studied at the Colegio Peterson and later at the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) of Televisa.
