Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra
The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) gave its inaugural performance at the Royal Thailand Navy Auditorium on 23 June 2005, in a gala concert for the International Trumpet Guild Conference. Over its first six seasons the TPO has consistently impressed and inspired audiences with its performances. Many conductors have led the TPO including Gudni Emilsson, Claude Villaret, Delta David Geir, Leo Phillips, Michalis Economou, Jeannine Wagnar, Dariusz Mikulski, Ligia Amadio, Christopher Hughes and Jeffery Meyer. Soloists from around the world regularly join the TPO for performances and have praised the orchestra for its growth and development in such a short period of time. The Bangkok Metropolitan Region (BMR) ( th, กรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล; ; ), may refer to a government-defined "political definition" of the urban region surrounding the metropolis of Bangkok, or the built-up area, i.e., urban agglomeration of Bangkok, Thailand, which varies in size and shape, and gets filled in as development expands. The political definition is defined as the metropolis and the five adjacent provinces of Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and Samut Sakhon. Reinhold Friedrich
Reinhold Friedrich (born 14 July 1958) is a German trumpeter and university lecturer in Karlsruhe. Career Born in Weingarten, Friedrich was from 1983 to 1999 Solo trumpeter at the Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester Frankfurt. In 1986 he was awarded a prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Since 1989 he has been professor for trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. As a peculiarity, Friedrich masters the playing on the keyed trumpet of which he presented various recordings. Friedrich also cultivates the playing of historical baroque trumpet and teaches trumpet playing in the sense of the historically informed performance. Siriraj Hospital ( th, โรงพยาบาลศิริราช; ) is the oldest and largest hospital in Thailand. It is in Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, opposite Thammasat University's Tha Phrachan campus. Sanam Luang ( th, สนามหลวง, ; lit: 'royal turf') is a open field and public square in front of Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, Bangkok, Thailand. Sanam Luang is in the Phra Nakhon District, the historic center of Bangkok. In the ''Royal Chronicle'' it was written that, "In front of Wat Mahathat, Sanam Luang lies between the Royal Palace and the Front Palace. When royal cremation was held at the Phra Men Ground, the pyre set up in the centre with the Royal Palace Pavilion to the south and the one of the Prince of the Front Palace to the north. Mahidol University
Mahidol University (Mahidol), an autonomous research institution in Thailand, had its origin in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888. Mahidol had an acceptance rate for Medicine of 0.4% as of the 2016 academic year. Becoming the University of Medical Science in 1943, it has been recognized as the country's fourth public university. The university was later renamed in 1969 by King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla, the "Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand". The university originally focused on health sciences but expanded to other fields in recent decades. It hosted Thailand's first medical school, the Siriraj Medical School. The College of Music, Mahidol University or Wittayalaiduliyangkasilp ( th, วิทยาลัยดุริยางคศิลป์; literally: College of Orchestra Art) is a music school in Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom, (in the western suburbs of Bangkok, Thailand). The College of Music is a professional school within Mahidol University. It was established in 1994 by Mahidol University under the leadership of , the first music school in Thailand. Today, there are more than 1,300 students enrolled in the precollege, undergraduate, and graduate levels of the College of Music (approximately 300 precollege, 750 undergraduates and 250 graduate students).
