Tezgaon Airfield
Tejgaon Airport is a Bangladesh Air Force military base in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It served as the country's sole international airport prior to the construction of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. History The British had built military airstrips at Tejgaon, Dhaka during the Second World War for operating warplanes towards the Battle of Kohima and other Burmese war threats. After independence in 1947, Tejgaon Airport became the first airport to operate civil aviation in the then- East Pakistan and it was also a station of the Pakistan Air Force. A number of other British-built military airstrips in Bangladeshi territory were also converted into civil airports – some during the East Pakistan period and some after independence. Jashore Airport is a domestic airport in Jashore, Bangladesh. Operated and maintained by the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh. Ishwardi Airport
Ishwardi Airport is a domestic airport located at Ishwardi Upazila in Pabna District. Biman Bangladesh Airlines had regular flights to Dhaka until 1996. On 18 November 2013, United Airways resumed flights to Dhaka, thus commercial services resumed after 17 years, but flights to the airport were suspended in mid 2014. History During World War II, the airport was known as the Hijli Base Area, and was used by the Twentieth Air Force. It hosted the United States Army Air Force XX Bomber Command 58th Bombardment Wing between 8–24 February 1945, prior to its deployment to the Mariana Islands. Cox's Bazar Airport
Cox's Bazar International Airport is an under-construction international airport in the resort town of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. The airport services both local residents of Cox's Bazar as well as tourists to the region. In November 2020, Biman Bangladesh Airlines started flight between Sylhet to Cox's Bazar, which was in a first, a direct flight between two cities without any connecting flight from Dhaka.
