Texas Jr. Brahmas
The Texas Junior Brahmas are a Tier III junior ice hockey team based in North Richland Hills, Texas, that plays in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) South Division. The team plays in the NYTEX Sports Centre and is owned by NYTEX Sports. NYTEX Sports also owns the NYTEX Sports Centre and the North American Hockey League's Lone Star Brahmas, with whom the Jr. Brahmas share the NYTEX Sports Centre. History The Jr. Brahmas were founded in 2010 and played in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) for four seasons. They advanced to the WSHL Thorne Cup finals after the 2013–14 season. North Richland Hills, commonly known as NRH, is a city inside Tarrant County, Texas, United States, and a mid-to-high end suburb of Fort Worth. The population was 69,917 at the 2020 census, making it the third largest city in Tarrant County. The New Mexico Ice Wolves are a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's South Division. The Wolves play their home games in the Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque, New Mexico. History On February 28, 2019, the NAHL board of governors announced that they had approved the membership application for a team in New Mexico owned by Desert Ice Investment, LLC and that the team would start play in the 2019–20 season as a member of the South Division. Their inaugural season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team had already been eliminated from playoff contention with 31 points in 52 games played. The team still won several postseason accolades such as Southern Division Organization of the Year and the NAHL's overall Organization of the Year.
