Texas Fuel
The Texas Fuel, formerly the South Texas Showboats, were a basketball team in the American Basketball Association. Based in San Antonio, the Fuel played their home games at the Alamo Convocation Center. During the original planning process, the Showboats were a member of the United Basketball League. Due to the team coming under new ownership, in 2008, the name was changed to the Texas Fuel, to honor the Fuel film that inspired the team to go green, and the colors changed to green and black. The team colors signify traditional Texas oil ( black) and new alternative fuels (green), such as biofuel. The team represents changes in fuel technology. In 2010, a biofueled bus was given to the team by Farouk USA and Biosilk. American Basketball Association (2000–present)
The American Basketball Association (ABA) is an American semi-professional men's basketball minor league that was founded in 1999. The ABA has teams based in the United States and previously had international teams based in Canada and Mexico. In the past, there were traveling teams from countries such as Australia and Japan who played in the ABA. Additionally, there were players from other countries that were on a U.S. team to showcase other talented athletes in the country. The current ABA bears no relation to the original American Basketball Association (1967–1976) that was considered a major league, and merged with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1976. The United Basketball League is a spring semi-professional basketball league based in the Southern United States. History Founded by Mac Claire in 2006 as the Regional Basketball League, the UBL began its inaugural season in the spring of 2008. Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis. The Pacers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division. The Pacers were first established in 1967 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and became a member of the NBA in 1976 as a result of the ABA–NBA merger. George Hill (basketball)
George Jesse Hill Jr. (born May 4, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). While playing for Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) he received many honors, including Summit League Player of the Year and was an honorable mention All-American his junior season. Hill was selected 26th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2008 NBA draft and would spend three seasons with the team before being traded to the Indiana Pacers in June 2011. He spent five seasons in Indiana and was dealt to the Utah Jazz in July 2016. Hill signed with the Sacramento Kings as a free agent in July 2017, but was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in February 2018. With the Cavaliers, he made his first trip to the NBA Finals.
