Tetyana Hamera-Shmyrko
Tetyana Hamera ( uk, Тетяна Гамера-Шмирко; born 1 June 1983) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner. She represented her country at the 2012 Olympics in London, finishing fifth in the women's marathon. This result was among her many performances from 2011 to 2015 later annulled due to her conviction for doping. Biography Born in Ternopil, Gamera started her career in athletics as a middle-distance runner. After 2009 she began to compete over longer distances and began to have her first successes. Olena Shurkhno ( uk, Олена Шурхно, née Samko – ; born 8 January 1978) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner who specialises in the marathon. Her personal best for the distance of 2:23:32 hours is the Ukrainian record. She has won marathons in Baltimore, Tempe, Arizona and Nashville. Career Shurkhno started her career as a steeplechase specialist and competed at national level in the event until 2005. She set her personal best for the 3000 metres steeplechase of 10:19.19 minutes in 2004 and also timed 10:13.71 in a novel indoor version of the event. It was only when she turned her running talents to the road racing circuit in 2007 that her international career blossomed. Osaka International Ladies Marathon
The is an annual marathon road race for women over the classic distance of 42.195 kilometres which is held on the 4th or 5th Sunday of January in the city of Osaka, Japan, and hosted by Japan Association of Athletics Federations, Kansai Telecasting Corporation, the Sankei Shimbun, Sankei Sports, Radio Osaka and Osaka City. The first edition took place on January 24, 1982, and was won by Italy's Rita Marchisio. The 1995 marathon was cancelled due to the Great Hanshin earthquake. The race takes place in the city and passes prominent landmarks such as Osaka Castle. The course was altered in 2011 to allow for faster times by cutting out a number of hilly sections near Osaka Castle. The finish line of the race is at Nagai Stadium, which was the host venue for the 2007 World Championships in Athletics. The Prefontaine Classic, an Oregon Track Club event, is one of the premier track and field meets in the United States, held in Eugene, Oregon. Every year it draws a world caliber field to compete at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. Previously one of the IAAF Grand Prix events, it is now part of the Diamond League. The 10,000 metres or the 10,000-metre run is a common long-distance track running event. The event is part of the athletics programme at the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships, and is common at championship level events. Prague Half Marathon
The Prague Half Marathon (known as the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon for sponsorship reasons) is an annual half marathon road running event which takes place in Spring on the city streets of Prague, Czech Republic, first held in 1999. It is managed by the same organisation that holds the Prague Marathon in May. The race has a loop course, starting and ending in Jan Palach Square near the Rudolfinum, and largely follows the Vltava river.
