Tessanne Chin
Tessanne Amanda Chin (; born September 20, 1985) is a Jamaican recording artist, best known for winning The Voice (American season 5), Season 5 of NBC's reality TV singing competition ''The Voice (American TV series), The Voice'' as part of Adam Levine's team. She has opened for artists such as Patti LaBelle, Peabo Bryson and Gladys Knight, and toured for three years with Jimmy Cliff. She is the younger sister of singer Tami Chynn. Her major label debut album, ''Count On My Love'', was released on July 1, 2014, under Republic Records. Early life Chin was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and attended Mavisville Preparatory school. Her father, Richard Chin, is of Chinese Jamaicans, Jamaican Chinese descent and her mother, Christine Chin, also a Jamaican national, is of English and African descent. Rose Parade
The Rose Parade, also known as the Tournament of Roses Parade (or simply the Tournament of Roses), is an annual parade held mostly along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California, United States, on New Year's Day (or on Monday, January 2 if New Year's Day falls on a Sunday). Produced by the non-profit Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, the parade usually starts at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time ( UTC–8), and includes flower-covered floats, marching bands, and equestrian units. The parade is followed in the afternoon by the Rose Bowl, one of the major bowl games in college football. It has been uninterrupted except during World War II in 1942, 1943, and 1945, and in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Patricia Louise Holte (born May 24, 1944), known professionally as Patti LaBelle, is an American R&B singer, actress and businesswoman. LaBelle is referred to as the " Godmother of Soul". Third World (band)
Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. Although it has undergone several line-up changes, Stephen "Cat" Coore and Richard Daley have been constant members. History Third World started when keyboard player Michael "Ibo" Cooper and guitarist (and cellist) Stephen "Cat" Coore (son of former Deputy Prime Minister David Coore), who had originally played in The Alley Cats and then Inner Circle, subsequently left to form their own band along with Inner Circle singer Milton "Prilly" Hamilton. ''In Between Words'' is the independent debut album by Jamaican singer-songwriter Tessanne Chin released digitally on December 6, 2010. After going on tour for three years with Jimmy Cliff as a back-up singer, Tessanne decided to launch her solo career. she began writing songs for her the album after she left her band Mile High. The first single " Hideaway" received heavy rotation on Jamaican radio and select stations in New York City. According to Nielsen SoundScan, it has sold over 15,749 downloads in its first week of release. The song was also featured on VP Records' Reggae Gold 2007. After "Hideaway," she has released two more singles, "Black Books," and "Messenger" both which were made available digitally. Chinese Jamaicans are Jamaicans of Chinese ancestry, which include descendants of migrants from China to Jamaica.
