Terry Nicholl
Terence John Nicholl (born 16 September 1952) is an English retired Association football midfielder who played professionally in both England and the United States. He later managed several indoor teams in the United States where he was the 1987 and 1988 American Indoor Soccer Association Coach of the Year. Playing career Nicholl's clubs included Crewe Alexandra, Sheffield United and Gillingham, where he made over 180 Football League appearances. In 1981, he moved to the USA where he signed with the Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He remained with the Wings until his retirement from playing following an injury-marred 1985–1986 season. Coaching career Nicholl then turned to coaching in America, as an assistant with indoor side Memphis Storm of the American Indoor Soccer Association. On 8 December 1986, the Storm fired head coach Gary Hindley and elevated Nicholl to head coach. He was named the 1987 and 1988 AISA Coach Of The Year. He won this award although ... Wilmslow ( ) is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England, south of Manchester city centre. The population was 24,497 at the 2011 Census. History Toponymy Wilmslow derives its name from Old English ''Wīghelmes hlāw'' = "mound of a man called Wīghelm." Lindow Man Much about the local Iron Age history of Wilmslow was uncovered with the discovery of Lindow Man, in Lindow Moss. Preserved in the peat bogs for 2,000 years, Lindow Man is one of the most important Iron Age finds in the country. Despite a campaign to keep Lindow Man in the area, he was transferred to the British Museum and is a central feature of the Iron Age exhibition. Jimmy Nicholl
James Michael Nicholl (born 28 December 1956) is a Northern Irish former professional Association football, footballer who played for several clubs, including Manchester United F.C., Manchester United and Rangers F.C., Rangers. He was mainly a defender (association football)#Full-back, right-back but could also play in other defensive roles. Nicholl won a total of 73 international cap (football), caps for Northern Ireland national football team, Northern Ireland, scoring one goal. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and management. He enjoyed success as manager of Raith Rovers F.C., Raith Rovers, winning the 1994–95 Scottish League Cup. Christopher John Nicholl (born 12 October 1946) is an English-born former Northern Ireland international footballer who later worked as a coach and manager. Playing career Nicholl was born in Macclesfield. He played for Burnley (1963–1966) (no league appearances), Witton Albion, Halifax Town (1968–1969) (42 league appearances, 3 goals) and Luton Town (1969–1972) (97 league appearances, 6 goals), before establishing himself as a centre-half with Aston Villa (1972–1977) (210 league appearances, 11 goals). He captained the side to victory over Everton in the 1976/1977 League Cup after two final replays. The second replay is remembered for Nicholl scoring one of the greatest goals in any Aston Villa match, a forty-yard left footer which helped take the match to extra time.
