Terry Devery

	Terry Devery Terry Devery (born 22 March 1938) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Western Bulldogs, Footscray in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL). A rover, Devery started his senior career at Box Hill Football Club, Box Hill in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). He took part in Box Hill's first ever VFA finals appearance in 1956 and finished second in voting for the 1958 J. J. Liston Trophy, behind winner Keith Woolnough from Northcote Football Club, Northcote. In 1958 he also represented the VFA at the 1958 Melbourne Carnival, Melbourne Carnival. Devery was cleared to Footscray in 1959 and played 17 games in his debut season, missing only round seven, with a bruised thigh. In the 1960 VFL season, Devery appeared in the first seven rounds, then lost his place for the next five games after suffering an injury, but returned in round 13 and played out the season. 	Box Hill Football Club Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the Victorian Football League. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. In that year Mr EFG Hodges, the proprietor of the "Reporter" newspaper, founded the "Reporter District Football Association". The six foundation teams were Bayswater, Box Hill, Canterbury, Ferntree Gully, Mitcham and Ringwood. This Box Hill team played on a ground approximately 400 metres south of where Box Hill City Oval is located today, the site is now partly occupied by the Box Hill High School and the Box Hill Cemetery.
