Terry Date (born January 31, 1956) is an American record producer and audio engineer specializing in rock genres, especially heavy metal. Lansing () is the capital of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County. Prong (band)
Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in New York City in 1986. The band is fronted by guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor, Prong's sole constant member. To date, they have released 12 studio albums (including a covers album), one live album, four EPs, one DVD and one remix album. Prong had two independent releases, '' Primitive Origins'' (1987) and ''Force Fed'' (1989), which attracted the attention of Epic Records, who signed the band in 1989. Their first two albums on Epic, ''Beg to Differ'' (1990) and '' Prove You Wrong'' (1991), were released to critical acclaim and garnered attention on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball''. Swass
''Swass'' is the debut album by Sir Mix-a-Lot. It was released in 1988 on Nastymix and re-released on CD by Def American Recordings. The album featured the singles "Posse on Broadway", "Square Dance Rap", "Iron Man" (a rap metal version of the Black Sabbath song featuring the band Metal Church) and "Rippn'". In 1990, the album received a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. According to Sir Mix-a-Lot, the word "swass" originally was an inside joke with no meaning in itself. After the album's release, the word came to mean "Some Wild Ass Silly Shit". The hook of the song "Swass" is reprised in "Don't Cha" by Busta Rhymes and CeeLo Green, becoming a world hit recorded by the Pussycat Dolls. Anthony L. Ray (born August 12, 1963), better known by his stage name Sir Mix-a-Lot, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Chastain is an American heavy metal music band, formed in 1984 by guitarist David T. Chastain and signed by Shrapnel Records. Career The band was put together in 1984 by Mike Varney, president of Shrapnel for a David T. Chastain solo album. Varney had noticed the shred guitar ability of Chastain, member of the Cincinnati-based band CJSS and, at the same time, he wanted to create an output for the talent of young singer Leather Leone, formerly with the San Francisco band Rude Girl. The first band lineup included Leone, Chastain, CJSS bassist Mike Skimmerhorn and drummer Fred Coury, who later played in Cinderella. This was the last album featuring the group's "classic" lineup of David Wayne, Kurdt Vanderhoof, Kirk Arrington, Duke Erickson, and Craig Wells, until ''Masterpeace'' (1999), which reunited the four-fifths of that lineup, with John Marshall replacing Wells. ''Fifth Angel'' is the first studio album by the American heavy metal band Fifth Angel. It was originally released in 1986. Musically, it shows much more resemblance to modern power metal than their other albums. After recording a four song demo in late 1983 and early 1984, which they sent to over 100 record labels, Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records signed the band and financed the recording of five additional songs and released the album in 1986. Fifth Angel is an American heavy metal band from Bellevue, Washington. Biography Fifth Angel was formed in the suburbs of Seattle in 1983, specifically, in the Bellevue area. The band's initial lineup consisted of Ted Pilot (vocals), James Byrd (lead guitar), Ed Archer (rhythm guitar), Ken Mary (drums) and Kenny Kay (bass). This line up went into Steve Lawson Productions studio in late 1983 with Terry Date as producer/engineer and recorded a four song demo that consisted of "Fade to Flames", "Fifth Angel", "In the Fallout", and "Wings of Destiny". Shrapnel Records signed them in 1985 and financed the recording of five more songs to complete a self titled album, that eventually appeared in 1986. ''Metal Church'' is the debut album by American heavy metal band Metal Church. The album was originally released by the independent record label Ground Zero in 1984. Based on the success of the album, the band was signed to a recording contract by Elektra Records, who reissued it in 1985. The cover art depicts a cruciform Gibson Explorer hidden in shadows and smoke. The album contains a cover of Deep Purple's " Highway Star". The cassette edition and first European vinyl edition contained the bonus track "Big Guns".
