Terrebonne High School
Terrebonne High School is a high school in Houma, Louisiana. It is a part of the Terrebonne Parish School District. History In 1969 Southdown High School (originally Houma Colored High School), which educated black students in Terrebonne Parish, closed. Students were moved to Terrebonne High and South Terrebonne High School. From 2015 to 2016 the Louisiana State Department of Education score for this school declined from 100.1 to 99.3; as an "A" level school makes 100 points or more, Terrebonne's rank fell from A to B. In fall of 2017 the 9th grade is scheduled to have been moved from Houma Junior High School to Terrebonne High. In all other areas of Terrebonne Parish, 9th graders were at the high school level. From February 2017 until fall 2017 existing 9th grade students were reclassified as Terrebonne High students but continued to take classes in portable buildings at Houma Junior High. Houma, Louisiana
Houma ( ) is the largest city in, and the parish seat of, Terrebonne Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is also the largest principal city of the Houma– Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area. The city's government was absorbed by the parish in 1984, which currently operates as the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. The population was 33,727 at the 2010 census, an increase of 1,334 over the 2000 census tabulation of 32,393. In 2020, the population estimates program determined 32,467 people lived in the city. At the 2020 census, its population rebounded to 33,406. Many unincorporated areas are adjacent to the city of Houma. The largest, Bayou Cane, is an urbanized area commonly referred to by locals as being part of Houma, but it is not included in the city's census counts, and is a separate census-designated place. Gordon Dove (Louisiana Politician)
The Gordon Dove was a British low powered, low wing single seat monoplane, built for the ultralight sports market in competition with aircraft like the Belgian designed Tipsy S. There was little enthusiasm for such machines in England in the late 1930s and only three were constructed. Design and development In 1935 Mervyn Chadwick and Raymond Gordon had come together to develop the then popular Flying Flea or other low powered aircraft suited to a predicted market in low cost, single seat flying. The appearance in England of the single seat Tipsy S in the following summer suggested that a low winged cantilever monoplane might be more popular and safer, so they set out to produce an aircraft along the same lines. The Milwaukee Milkmen are an independent baseball team based in Franklin, Wisconsin. They are members of the American Association of Professional Baseball, an official Partner League of Major League Baseball. They began play in 2019 and play home games at Franklin Field (formerly known as Routine Field). Justin Paul Williams (born August 20, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Professional Baseball. Earl Roy Gros (August 29, 1940 – July 15, 2013) was an American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons . Born and raised in Louisiana, he played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge. Gros was selected in the first round of the 1962 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and in the second round of the AFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. Gros opted for the NFL, where he backed up fellow LSU Tiger Jim Taylor at fullback and the Packers repeated as NFL champions in his rookie season in 1962.
