Terra Alta () is a sparsely populated inland comarca (county) in Catalonia, Spain. Its capital is Gandesa. Terra Alta, West Virginia
Terra Alta is a town in eastern Preston County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,415 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Morgantown metropolitan area. History Terra Alta was originally called Portland, and under the latter name had its start in the 1850s. The present name Terra Alta is derived from Latin meaning "high land". According to the 1876 Baltimore and Ohio Railroad map, Terra Alta had a railroad station called Cranberry Station. The town is home to the James S. Terra Alta is a Spanish Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) (''Denominació d'Origen Protegida'' in Catalan) for Catalan wines, located in the west of the province of Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain) and covers 12 inland municipalities. As the name indicates (''Terra Alta'' = High Land) the area is in the mountains. It features in a number of Picasso’s paintings. Traditionally, due to its geographical isolation, this area traditionally only made wine for local consumption and has only recently started to produce modern Mediterranean style wines. Several cooperative wineries were designed and built in the 1920s by Cèsar Martinell, a student of Antoni Gaudí, and are notable for their modernist architectural style. Residential Condominium Building Terra Alta is a residential complex located in San Salvador, El Salvador. It is an Archer Group project designed by Salvadoran architect Roberto Antonio Rivera. The complex consists of 20 floors and 83 apartments, and has a height of 90 metres (301.5 feet). It is part of the construction of several apartment buildings in the area of Colonia Escalon, in response to high housing demand. The design is complemented by semi-circular structures at the ends, covered with green reinforced glass.
