Terlingua Common School District
Terlingua Common School District (TCSD) is a public school district based in unincorporated Brewster County, in the U.S. state of Texas. Its only school, Big Bend High School, is located adjacent to the Study Butte census-designated place, and with a Terlingua postal address. The district, which also serves Lajitas, Clippingfrom Newspapers.com. It states the students attend Terlingua Common School. has one school — Big Bend High School, for grades K-12. Previously it was administratively divided between Big Bend High and Terlingua Elementary (Grades K–8). Previously the elementary school was called the "Terlingua Common School". History As of 2007, the Texas State Energy Conservation Office awards Terlingua ISD money due to the colonias served by the district. The Alpine Independent School District is a school district based in Alpine, Texas, United States. The district operates one high school, Alpine High School. History Prior to 1996 Alpine High School served as the high school for students from Terlingua Common School District. Beginning in the 1960s, students were bussed to Alpine, with the bus ride being the longest in the United States. San Vicente Independent School District also sent its high school students to Alpine High. In 1996 Big Bend High School opened and the Terlingua area students no longer came to Alpine High. Alpine High School is a public high school located in the city of Alpine, Texas (USA) and is classified as a 3A school by the UIL. Howard Payne University Press
Howard Payne University is a private Baptist university in Brownwood, Texas. It is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Howard Payne College was founded by Reverend Noah T. Byers and Dr. John David Robnett in 1889. The institution is named for its first major benefactor, Edward Howard Payne, who was the brother-in-law of Robnett. San Vicente Independent School District is a public school district in Brewster County, Texas, Brewster County, Texas (United States, USA). The district has one school – San Vicente Elementary – located on the grounds of Big Bend National Park. It serves students in grades kindergarten through eight who are dependents of people who work at the park.
