Terje Bratberg
Terje Torberg Vevik Bratberg (born 17 January 1955) is a Norwegian historian and encyclopedist. He got his cand.philol. degree with his thesis on Jens Bjelke in 1990. Bratberg is the editor of the Norwegian language-encyclopedia on the city Trondheim, named ''Trondheim byleksikon''. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. The respective first editions were published in 1907–1913 (Aschehoug) and 1933–1934 (Gyldendal). Jens Bjelke
Jens Ã…gessøn Bjelke (2 February 1580 – 7 November 1659) was a Norwegian nobleman who was Chancellor of Norway from 1614 to 1648, when he was succeeded by Hannibal Sehested. He was the son of Ã…ge Bjelke and Margrethe Thott. At the time of his death, he was Norway's largest land owner. After his tenure as Chancellor, the office largely lost its influence and was abolished in 1679. Education and early career Bjelke was born at AustrÃ¥tt. At 20 years of age, he was sent abroad to study, studying in Rostock,Seentry of Jens Bjelkein Rostock Matrikelportal Leipzig, Leiden and elsewhere. He studied medicine, among other things. On his return on 20 February 1605 he was employed at the Danish Chancery and remained there as a secretary until 20 January 1609. Norwegian Language
Norwegian ( no, norsk, links=no ) is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Norway, where it is an official language. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties; some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages, constitute the North Germanic languages. Faroese and Icelandic are not mutually intelligible with Norwegian in their spoken form because continental Scandinavian has diverged from them. While the two Germanic languages with the greatest numbers of speakers, English and German, have close similarities with Norwegian, neither is mutually intelligible with it. Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. ''Trondheim byleksikon'' ("Trondheim City Encyclopedia") is a printed encyclopedia which covers Trondheim, Norway. Published by Kunnskapsforlaget and written by Terje Bratberg, the first edition was published in 1996 ahead of the city's 1000th anniversary the following year. The first edition contained 4200 entries. Støren's book contents have been an important part of the basic material for the city encyclopedia. Place and name in Trondheim referred only to the districts that lay within the city limits of 1892, as well as Bymarka and the old Lade parish, that is, Strinda herred with the exception of Bratsberg parish. The districts of Tiller, Leinstrand and Byneset were therefore not covered. The second edition was published in 2008 and contains 5000 entries. Øivind Lunde
Øivind Lunde (born 7 August 1962 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian bass guitarist, known from bands like Elle Melle, Good Time Charly and Electric Heavyland. Biography Lunde started his musical career as a pupil at the Rudolf Steiner School in Bergen. He later started playing the bass guitar in local bands. His first major project was Good Time Charly. They performed at the 1988 URIJAZZ. At the 1993 Nattjazz he was in the lineup for Ole Thomsen Ole Thomsen (born 28 November 1952 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar) and composer, known from a number of releases and since 1977 central on the Bergen jazz scene.
