Teodor Brateş was a Romanian radio (1949–1958) and television journalist (1960–1990). He is mostly remembered today for his role in the Romanian Revolution, when he was on air for almost 70 hours during the 22nd, 23rd and 24 December 1989. The Romanian Revolution ( ro, Revoluția Română), also known as the Christmas Revolution ( ro, Revoluția de Crăciun), was a period of violent civil unrest in Romania during December 1989 as a part of the Revolutions of 1989 that occurred in several countries around the world.
