The men's singles tennis event at the 2014 Asian Games took place at the Yeorumul Tennis Courts, Incheon, South Korea from 24 September to 30 September 2014. A total of 42 competitors from 23 nations participated in the event. Somdev Devvarman from India at the 2014 Asian Games, India was the defending champion, but did not participate in this edition. Patrick John Tierro
Patrick John "PJ" Tierro (born August 1, 1985) is an American-born Filipino former professional tennis player. Tierro, who was born in South Carolina, began his Davis Cup career in 2004 and featured in a total of 19 ties, across two stints in the team. In 2009 he stepped away from the side while he undertook his studies at De La Salle University but returned after graduating and played until 2017. Chung Hyeon (; ; born 19 May 1996) is a South Korean professional tennis player. He is the 2017 Next Gen Finals champion. As an unseeded player, he became the first Korean player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal at the 2018 Australian Open.
