Tennessee State Route 417
State Route 417 (SR 417), also known as W Ellington Parkway, is a short north-south state highway located entirely in the city of Lewisburg, Tennessee. Route description SR 417 begins at an intersection with SR 373 (Mooresville Highway/W Commerce Street) in the western part of the city. It heads north through wooded areas before curving to the northeast and passing through suburban areas, where it passes by Marshall County High School and Lewisburg Middle School. The highway curves to the east to pass by Westhills Elementary School before it comes to an end at an intersection with US 431 (N Ellington Parkway/ SR 50/ SR 106). The entire route of SR 417 is a two-lane highway. Lewisburg is a city in, and the county seat of Marshall County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 12,288 in 2020. Lewisburg is located in Middle Tennessee, fifty miles south of Nashville and fifty-two miles north of Huntsville, Alabama. Residents have access to the larger cities via nearby I-65. Located among rolling hills, Lewisburg was named for the explorer Meriwether Lewis. By 1838, the town was supporting a newspaper and a bank. The downtown area is similar to many other small southern towns, with a courthouse on a square, surrounded by retail and commercial businesses. State Route 373 (SR 373) is a east-west state highway in southern Middle Tennessee. It connects the community of Culleoka with the cities of Lewisburg and Columbia, along with I-65. Route description SR 373 begins in Maury County at an intersection with SR 50 a few miles southeast of Columbia. It heads south as Culleoka Highway through farmland as a two-lane highway to pass through Culleoka, where it makes a sharp turn to the east. The highway winds its way east through more hilly terrain for a few miles to cross into Marshall County. SR 373 winds its way through rural hilly countryside for several more miles as Mooresville Highway, where it has an interchange with I-65 (Exit 32) and widens to a four-lane undivided highway, before entering Lewisburg at an intersection with SR 417 (W Ellington Parkway). Route description Hickman County SR 50 begins as a 2-lane secondary highway in Hickman County at exit 148 on I-40 near Only as a continuation of Duck River Road.
