State Route 285 (SR 285) is a state highway in White and Van Buren counties in Middle Tennessee and Bledsoe County in East Tennessee. Route description SR 285 begins at an intersection with US 70S in Doyle in White County. It initially runs in a southeastwardly direction, briefly merging with SR 111, where it crosses into Van Buren County, before splitting off and winding its way up the Cane Creek Valley. At the outer edges of Fall Creek Falls State Park, SR 285 joins SR 30, which approaches from Spencer to the west. The merged highway then ascends more than to the top of the Cumberland Plateau before diverging again, with SR 30 continuing eastward, and SR 285 turning northward through a rural stretch of the Plateau region. Bending southeastward again, SR 285 enters Bledsoe County and crosses Bee Creek and passes Bledsoe State Forest before it has a y-intersection with SR 301, which provides access to Taft Youth Center. Spencer is a town in Van Buren County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,683 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Van Buren County. It is home to Fall Creek Falls State Park. Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park
Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park is a state park in Van Buren and Bledsoe counties, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The over park is centered on the upper Cane Creek Gorge, an area known for its unique geological formations and scenic waterfalls. The park's namesake is the Fall Creek Falls, the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Geography Setting The Cane Creek Gorge presents as a large gash in the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau, stretching for some from the Cane Creek Cascades to Cane Creek's mouth along the Caney Fork River. Cane Creek rises atop Little Mountain — which lines the plateau's eastern edge above Sequatchie Valley — and winds northward across the plateau. Just beyond its source, Cane Creek slowly gains strength as it absorbs Meadow Creek and several smaller streams. State Route 1 (SR 1), known as the Memphis to Bristol Highway, is a mostly-Unsigned highway, unsigned State highway (US), state highway in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It stretches all the way from the Arkansas state line at Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis in the southwest corner of the state to Bristol, Tennessee, Bristol in the northeast part. State Route 101 (SR 101) is state highway in Bledsoe and Cumberland counties in the eastern portion U.S. state of Tennessee. Route description SR 101 begins in the rolling farmlands of Bledsoe County at a Y-Intersection with SR 30 in the Mount Crest community. It then goes northwest as it enters a large wooded area before coming to an intersection with SR 285, where it turns northeast and crosses into Cumberland County. It then becomes curvy as it passes through the rolling hills and farmland of the Cumberland Plateau before passing just north of Lake Tansi Village and having an intersection with SR 282, northeast of Meadow Park Lake. It runs generally west to east, connecting McMinnville in Warren County with Parksville along the Ocoee River in Polk County. History Doyle, originally known as Doyle Station, developed as a railroad stop in the early 1880s.
