Teng Boon Soon
Teng Boon Soon (; born 30 August 1941) is a Malaysian politician. He was the Member of Parliament of Malaysia for the Tebrau constituency in Johor from 2004 to 2013. He sat in Parliament as a member of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) party in the then-governing Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Teng was elected to federal Parliament in the 2004 general elections, succeeding United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) member Mohd Ali Hassan in the seat of Tebrau. Percentage figures are calculated based on total turnout. Includes results from the 2004 election. After the 2008 general election, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage by Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi. 2008 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held on Saturday, 8 March 2008 for members of the 12th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 out of 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The 11th Parliament was dissolved on 13 February 2008, and the following day, the Election Commission announced nominations would be held on 24 February, with general polling set for 8 March. The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia. The Dewan Rakyat sits in the Houses of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur, along with the Dewan Negara, the upper house. 2013 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 5 May 2013 to elect the members of the 13th Parliament. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 of the 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The elections were the first since Najib Razak became Prime Minister in 2009.
