Ten Thousand Angels
''Ten Thousand Angels'' is the debut studio album of American country music singer Mindy McCready. It was released on BNA Records in 1996 and sold two million copies being certified double platinum by the RIAA. The album peaked at #5 on the US country charts, and producing four chart singles on the country charts. The first single, which was the title track, reached #6, and was followed by her only #1 hit, "Guys Do It All the Time". Following this song was "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now", which featured backing vocals from Richie McDonald, the lead singer of the band Lonestar. This song peaked at #18. "A Girl's Gotta Do (What a Girl's Gotta Do)" was the final single, reaching #4 in 1997. Mindy McCready
Malinda Gayle McCready (November 30, 1975 – February 17, 2013) was an American country music singer. Active from 1995 until her death in 2013, she recorded a total of five studio albums. Her debut album, 1996's '' Ten Thousand Angels'', was released on BNA Records and was certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA, while 1997's '' If I Don't Stay the Night'' was certified Gold. 1999's '' I'm Not So Tough'', her final album for BNA, was less successful, and she left the label. A self-titled fourth album followed in 2002 on Capitol Records. McCready's fifth and final studio album, '' I'm Still Here'', was released in March 2010 on Iconic Records. Rhonda Kye Fleming (born October 9, 1951) is an American singer/songwriter and music publisher working in Nashville, Tennessee. She was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009 and has won more than 42 BMI Awards, including BMI Songwriter of the Year for 3 consecutive years (1981–83). Fifteen of her compositions have achieved over one million performances each. Paul Franklin (musician)
Paul V. Franklin (born May 31, 1954) is an American multi-instrumentalist, known mainly for his work as a steel guitarist. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of Barbara Mandrell's road band; in addition he toured with Vince Gill, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and Dire Straits. He has since become a prolific session musician in Nashville, playing on more than 500 albums. He has been named by the Academy of Country Music as Best Steel Guitarist on several occasions. He was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019. An acoustic guitar is a musical instrument in the string family. When a string is plucked its vibration is transmitted from the bridge, resonating throughout the top of the guitar. It is also transmitted to the side and back of the instrument, resonating through the air in the body, and producing sound from the sound hole. Larry Byrom
Steppenwolf was an American-Canadian rock band that was prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton, all formerly of the Canadian band the Sparrows. Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited via notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Mark Germino
Mark Germino is an American folk rock and country singer-songwriter. Born in North Carolina, he initially worked as a poet before moving into folk rock songwriting; by 1974, he had moved to Nashville. Initially, he did not plan to become a singer, although he eventually bought a guitar and took up singing as well, as he decided that singing was easier than reciting poetry. The Song "Lean on Jesus (Before He Leans on You)" co-written by Germino with Rob Stanley and sung by Paul Craft reached No. 55 on the ''Billboard'' country chart in 1977. Germino moved on to performing in Nashville clubs at night, while working by day as a truck driver. Donald Ralph "Skip" Ewing (born March 6, 1964) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Kerry Chater
Kerry Michael Chater (August 7, 1945 – February 4, 2022) was a Canadian musician and songwriter who was best known as a member of Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, but he was a successful Nashville songwriter for many years. Musician Chater was born on August 7, 1945 in Vancouver, British Columbia. A bass player, in the mid-'60s he joined a band called The Progressives with Doug Ingle (keyboards), Gary 'Mutha' Whitem (sax) and Danny Weis (guitar). The Progressives eventually became part of Jeri and the Jeritones and then Palace Pages by 1965, after Jeri married Kerry. By 1966, Ingle, and Weis went off to form Iron Butterfly and Chater and Whitem joined The Outcasts with their friend Gary Puckett and others; this eventually became The Union Gap, which was signed by Columbia Records in 1967. Robert Byrne (July 10, 1954 – June 27, 2005) was an American songwriter known primarily for his work in country music. He did most of his work at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Between the 1980s and 2000s, Byrne co-wrote singles for several artists, including the number one singles "How Do I Turn You On" by Ronnie Milsap; "I Can't Win for Losin' You", "Once in a Blue Moon (song), Once in a Blue Moon", "That Was a Close One" and "What I'd Say" for Earl Thomas Conley; "I Didn't Know My Own Strength (Lorrie Morgan song), I Didn't Know My Own Strength" by Lorrie Morgan; and "Two Dozen Roses" by Shenandoah (band), Shenandoah.
