Temple Of Art
''Temple of Art'' is a documentary film created and directed by Allan Amato and Olga Nunes. The film follows over 50 artists' creative process and philosophies, asking each of them the question, “Why do you make art?”. Allan Amato
Allan Amato; (born July 18, 1974) is an American portrait photographer and film director. Career In 2005, Amato was working in advertising in New Orleans, but changed his career path after Hurricane Katrina forced him to relocate. Amato was evacuated to Houston, where he bought his lighting and camera equipment. Seven years later, he began the creation of Temple of Art, which originally was planned to be a small gallery show, but became a published book project due to the show's initial popularity. Soon after, Amato, with oft collaborator and filmmaker Olga Nunes, developed Temple of Art into a feature-length a documentary. His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, collage, found objects, digital art, and sculpture. Barron Storey (born 1940, Dallas, TX) is an American illustrator, graphic novelist, and educator. He is famous for his accomplishments as an illustrator and fine artist, as well as for his career as a teacher. Storey has taught illustration since the 1970s and currently is on the faculty at San Jose State University. He trained at Art Center in Los Angeles and under Robert Weaver at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Olga Nunes
Olga Nunes is a Canadian-born performer, pianist, singer and composer based in San Francisco, California. Music career Olga began writing songs in 2005, after being taught the basics of piano by a Buddhist monk, and began playing with her band in Los Angeles soon after. Her first video of her single "A Dream Of Gardens" was released in 2007, with lyrics by Neil Gaiman. Gaiman also credits Nunes in his crowd-sourcing success.
