Temeka Johnson
Temeka Rochelle Johnson (born September 6, 1982) is a former American professional basketball player. Her primary position was point guard. High school years Johnson attended Bonnabel High School in Kenner, Louisiana. College years Johnson played for the LSU Lady Tigers from 2001 to 2005, graduating from the school in 2005. She broke LSU's career assist record. She was drafted 8th overall in the 2010 WNBA draft by the Sparks. Riley played collegiately for the Oklahoma State Cowgirls. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. The Women's National Basketball Association's Rookie of the Year Award is an annual Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) award given since the 1998 WNBA season, to the top rookie of the regular season. Seimone Augustus
Seimone Delicia Augustus (born April 30, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player who is currently an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 draft and, but for her final season in 2020 with the Sparks, played her entire career with Minnesota. An eight-time All-Star and the 2008 finals MVP, Augustus lead the Lynx to four WNBA championships. Augustus is one of the most recognizable faces in the WNBA. Nancy Lieberman Award
The Nancy Lieberman Award, named for Basketball Hall of Fame legend Nancy Lieberman, was given annually by the Rotary Club of Detroit in the Award's first 14 years to the nation's top collegiate point guard in women's Division I basketball. Sue Bird won the inaugural award in 2000, making her the first of only two players to have won three Lieberman Awards.
