Telico, Texas
Telico is an unincorporated community in northeastern Ellis County, Texas, United States on Highway 34. History The area that became Telico was settled before 1856. It was first called Trinity City, but was renamed in the mid-1850s to Telico after Telico, North Carolina. The town was based on agriculture and had a cotton gin that local farmers used for several decades until they renovated it in the early 2000's to create a wedding venue. Notable people * Clyde Barrow, born near Telico, an outlaw in the team Bonnie and Clyde, who traveled the Central United States during the Great Depression in the early and mid 1930s. * Jason Massey, murderer of two teenagers. Ellis County, Texas
Ellis County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of 2020, its population was estimated to be 192,455. The county seat is Waxahachie. The county was founded in 1849 and organized the next year. It is named for Richard Ellis, president of the convention that produced the Texas Declaration of Independence. Ellis County is included in the Dallas– Fort Worth– Arlington metropolitan statistical area. State Highway 34 (SH 34) is a route that runs from Honey Grove, Texas, Honey Grove to Italy, Texas, Italy just east of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. History SH 34 was originally proposed on November 19, 1917, starting in Ft. Worth travelling southeast to Ennis, Texas, Ennis. On October 15, 1923, SH 34 was extended to Kaufman. On December 17, 1923, SH 34 was extended to Greenville, Texas, Greenville, replacing Texas State Highway 38, SH 38. On May 25, 1925, the eastern end had been extended north to Honey Grove. Bonnie And Clyde
Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (October 1, 1910May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut (Champion) Barrow (March 24, 1909May 23, 1934) were an American criminal couple who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression. The couple were known for their bank robberies, although they preferred to rob small stores or rural funeral homes. In the United States, the Great Depression began with the Wall Street Crash of October 1929 and then spread worldwide. The nadir came in 1931–1933, and recovery came in 1940. Jason Massey
Jason Eric Massey (January 7, 1973 – April 3, 2001) was an American murderer who was executed in 2001 for the murders of two teenagers. Background Massey was born on January 7, 1973, in Ellis County, Texas. He was neglected and abused by his alcoholic father and his drug-addicted mother. By his teens, he was a juvenile delinquent with a lengthy criminal record, mostly for torturing animals and stalking. His mother once committed him to a psychiatric hospital after discovering his journals, in which he detailed his fantasies about rape and murder, his hero worship of Charles Manson, his avowed Satanism, and his strong desire to become a serial killer.
