''Television'' (Italian: ''Televisione'') is a 1931 American comedy film directed by Charles de Rochefort and starring Anna Maria Dossena, Silvio Orsini and Amina Pirani Maggi.Waldman p.162 Adapted from the play by Howard Irving Young, it was made at the Joinville Studios in Paris. Paramount Pictures was pursuing a strategy of producing multiple-language versions there, and this film was made in several different languages. The film's sets were designed by Paolo Reni. Charles d'Authier de Rochefort (7 July 1887 – 31 January 1952) was a French film actor, principally of the silent era. He appeared in 34 films between 1911 and 1932. American comedy films are comedy films produced in the United States. The genre is one of the oldest in American cinema; some of the first silent movies were comedies, as slapstick comedy often relies on visual depictions, without requiring sound.
