Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Tekoa ranks 420th of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked. The town is centered in the rolling fields of the Palouse and features the landmark Milwaukee Road Bridge, a railroad trestle, as well as the John Wayne Trail. Tekoa is also known for its historic Empire Theatre, built in 1940 in an art-deco style, that the town's citizens have lovingly restored. 	Tekoa Mountain Tekoa Mountain, , is a dramatic, rocky high point overlooking the Westfield River Gorge at the eastern edge of the Berkshire plateau in the towns of Montgomery and Russell, Massachusetts, USA. Tekoa Mountain, very prominent from the "Jacob's Ladder" section of U.S. Route 20 in the town of Russell, is not a true mountain but a cleaver jutting from a dissected plateau; it was produced by glacial action and through continuous erosion by the Westfield River and Moose Meadow Brook before and after the last ice age. 	Yosef Tekoah Yosef Tekoah ( he, יוסף תקוע, 4 March 1925 – 14 April 1991) was a senior Israeli diplomat and the President of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (1975–1981). He was instrumental in the Israeli settlement in disputed DMZ territories with Syria, serving as one of David Ben-Gurion's favorite diplomats. Biography Tekoah was born in Lyakhavichy, Poland as Yosef Tukaczynski. At the age of five he emigrated with his family to Harbin, due to the rise of fascism in his homeland. Some time after the Fall of Harbin to the Imperial Japanese Army, Tekoah's family moved to Shanghai for financial purposes. He had a Master’s Degree in international relations from Harvard University, where he also taught and Master's degree in Natural and legal rights from Aurora University.
