Tehran Conference
The Tehran Conference (codenamed Eureka) was a strategy meeting of Joseph Stalin, Franklin Roosevelt, and Winston Churchill from 28 November to 1 December 1943, after the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran. It was held in the Soviet Union's embassy in Tehran, Iran. It was the first of the list of World War II conferences, World War II conferences of the "Big Three" Allies of World War II, Allied leaders (the Soviet Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom) and closely followed the Cairo Conference (1943), Cairo Conference, which had taken place on 22–26 November 1943, and preceded the 1945 Yalta Conference, Yalta and Potsdam Conference, Potsdam conferences. The Allies, formally referred to as the United Nations from 1942, were an international military coalition formed during the Second World War (1939–1945) to oppose the Axis powers, led by Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and Fascist Italy.
