Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 Series)
''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' is an American animated television series developed by Lloyd Goldfine, and based on the comic book characters of the same name created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The series premiered on February 8, 2003, as part of the Fox's FoxBox programming block (later known as 4Kids TV) and ended on February 28, 2009. The series was announced on May 7, 2002. It was co-produced by 4Kids Entertainment (as its first in-house animated production) and franchise creators Mirage Studios, which co-owned rights to the show, with animation provided by the studio Dong Woo. The series ran for 156 episodes over seven seasons. For its final season in 2008, the show moved from Fox to The CW. 4Kids also licensed the first 40 episodes to Cartoon Network in 2003, and Cartoon Network aired the series until mid 2005. Science Fiction Comedy
Science fiction comedy (sci-fi comedy) or comic science fiction is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that exploits the science-fiction (SF) genre's conventions for comedy, comedic effect. Comic science fiction often mocks or satirizes standard SF conventions – such as alien invasion of Earth, interstellar travel, or futuristic technology. It can also satirize and criticize present-day society. An early example was the ''Pete Manx'' series by Henry Kuttner and Arthur K. John Van Tongeren
John Warrington Van Tongeren is an American keyboardist and composer for films and television. Biography Van Tongeren's career in the entertainment business began as a keyboardist, with one of his earliest projects being the band Q, featuring Jon St. James and Stacey Swain (a.k.a. Stacey Q). Q then became SSQ, which released one album, Playback, on EMI records with John contributing four songs, most notably Anonymous. After leaving SSQ in the early '80s, Van Tongeren became an in-demand session musician and began composing music for movies. As a musician, he has worked with Chicago, Roger Daltrey, Robbie Nevil, John Parr, Starship, Jeff Beck, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, The Pointer Sisters, Living in a Box, Stryper, and others. He currently works out of The Blue Room, a recording studio in Los Angeles. The Shredder (Oroku Saki, Japanese: 小禄咲) is a supervillain and the main antagonist of the ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' franchise. The character was created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, and first appeared in the comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mirage Studios), ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' #1 in May 1984. The Shredder is depicted as the ruthless leader of a criminal organization known as the Foot Clan, and serves as the archenemy of the Turtles and Splinter (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Splinter. In 2009, The Shredder was ranked as IGN's 39th-greatest comic book villain of all time. Design Shredder's physical appearance remains fairly consistent in most incarnations of the character.
