Teenage Mailbag
''Teenage Mailbag'' was an Australian television series which aired in 1957 to 1958 on Melbourne station HSV-7. Information on this series is scarce. According to a 2008 article in ''The Age'', the format consisted of Ernie Sigley, Gaynor Bunning and Heather Horwood singing requested songs in a 15-minute slot, and later expanded to an hour. The one-hour version became the series ''The Teenage Show'' (1958-1960?). At one point, the series aired at 7:15PM, preceded by another 15-minute series titled ''Take That'' and followed by an American program (''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin''). It should not be confused with an unrelated 1960s series by the same name which aired on TCN-9 in Sydney (see ''Teenage Mailbag''). ''TV Disc Jockey'' was an early Australian television music program which is notable as it later evolved to become the Australian version of ''Bandstand''. It aired on the Nine Network's TCN-9 from June 1957 to February 1958. The series originally consisted of host John Godson playing records (with the visual consisting of the record going round), later a live band joined and then the series began to accompany the records by inviting young people into the studio to dance to the music. In 1958 it changed its title to '' Accent on Youth''. Teen Time
''Teen Time'' was an Australian television series which aired from 1959 to 1961. It was hosted by Keith Walshe and Carol Finlayson, and as was often the case with Australian music television series of the era, it aired on only a single station, in this case ATN-7. The series presented a mix of live music performances and records, and had a live audience. Dig Richards and the R'Jays appeared on Tuesdays, while Warren Williams appeared on Fridays. There are no copies of the series existing to date as TV at the time did not hold copies. They were copied over to save film. The only footage that exists of this TV show is a home movie held by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. Ernie Sigley
Ernest William Sigley (2 September 1938 – 15 August 2021) was an Australian television host, comedian, variety performer, radio presenter and singer. Known as a pioneer of radio and television in Australian, he was often styled as a "little Aussie battler" with a larrikin sense of humour. Sigley started his career in radio, before becoming a presenter of TV programs and was best known for his self-titled program ''The Ernie Sigley Show'' and ''Saturday Night Live'' as well as original host of game show ''Wheel of Fortune'', after presenting talk shows with his frequent co-presenter Denise Drysdale in the late 80s and early 90s, he returned to presenting radio broadcasts, until retiring in 2009. The Adventures Of Rin Tin Tin
''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin'' is an American children's television series in the Western genre that aired from October 1954 to May 1959 on the ABC television network. In all, 164 episodes aired. The show starred Lee Aaker as Rusty, a boy orphaned in an Indian raid, who was being raised by the soldiers at a US Cavalry post known as Fort Apache. Rusty and his German shepherd dog, Rin Tin Tin, help the soldiers to establish order in the American West. James E. Brown appeared as Lieutenant Ripley "Rip" Masters. Co-stars included Joe Sawyer as Sergeant Biff O'Hara and Rand Brooks as Corporal Randy Boone. The character of Rin Tin Tin was named after Rin Tin Tin, a legendary screen dog of the 1920s and 30s.
