Teen Punks In Heat
''Teen Punks in Heat'' is the eleventh studio album by the American punk rock band Screeching Weasel. It was released in September 2000 through Panic Button Records. Though receiving mixed reviews from national critics, it was championed upon its release by many critics in the band's Chicago hometown.Shortly after the release of the album, the band played two sold out shows at Chicago's House of Blues, their first live performances in seven years. Rumors of a full tour to promote the album swirled, but the band announced their break-up before any plans were confirmed. The album features a cover of Italian pop punk band The Manges' "I Will Always Do." Screeching Weasel
Screeching Weasel is an American punk rock band consisting of Ben Weasel (vocals), Mike Kennerty (guitar), Mike Hunchback (guitar), Zach "Poutine" Brandner (bass) and Pierre Marche (drums). Screeching Weasel is originally from the Chicago suburb of Prospect Heights, Illinois. The band was formed in 1986 by Ben Weasel and John Jughead. Since their formation, Screeching Weasel have reformed several times with lineup changes. Ben Weasel has been the only constant member, though Jughead was present in every incarnation of the band until 2009. Other prominent members include guitarist/bassist Dan Vapid and drummer Dan Panic, who have each appeared on six of the band's studio albums, and Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt who appeared on one. John Pierson (musician)
John Pierson, known also by the stage name Jughead and by the pseudonym Ian Pierce, is an American musician, writer, actor, and podcaster. Biography In 1986, Pierson and Ben Weasel co-founded the punk rock band Screeching Weasel in Chicago, Illinois. Pierson played guitar for the band until 2006. In 2002, Pierson formed the acoustic pop-punk band Even in Blackouts, with which he has recorded four albums and one EP and toured several times. Pierson is also a playwright and novelist, usually writing under the name Ian Pierce. He formed a theater production company, Hope And Nonthings, in 1990 and produced ten plays before joining the Neo-Futurists; he has been performing in their long-running show ''Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind'' since 1996. Phillip Hill
Phillip Hill is an American rock musician / songwriter. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee to mother Phyllis Hill and father, Ralph Emery, on November 3, 1972. He has been involved in several pop punk bands, including Teen Idols, Screeching Weasel, Common Rider, Even in Blackouts, and The Queers. Hill has also worked extensively as a recording engineer. His audio engineering credentials appear on numerous albums with a wide spectrum of musical styles, from the punk rock sounds of bands such as Anti-Flag, Rise Against, Screeching Weasel and his own band, Teen Idols, to thrash metal, country, folksy-blues, and bluegrass. The Manges
The Manges are an Italian pop punk band who formed in La Spezia in 1993. The band's first release was a 2000 split with the McRackins titled ''Amp Records Battle Royale!'' In 2001 the Manges recorded their debut album ''The Manges 'R' Good Enough'' for Stardumb Records. The album drew comparisons to the Ramones and included a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Goonies 'R' Good Enough". The band is closely associated with The Queers, having gone on a European tour with the band; in 2003 the two bands recorded the split album ''Acid Beaters'' together. Ben Weasel
Benjamin Foster (born 1968), also known as Ben Weasel, is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the punk rock band Screeching Weasel. Early life Foster was born in 1968, and was raised in Prospect Heights, Illinois. He attended River Trails Middle School in Mount Prospect, Illinois where he first met future Screeching Weasel co-founder John Pierson. Weasel was expelled from John Hersey High School and St. Viator High School. He was eventually sent to the Élan School in Poland, Maine for his behavior issues.
