Teddy Stadium
Teddy Stadium ( he, אצטדיון טדי) is a sports stadium in the Malha neighborhood of Jerusalem. Three football teams currently use the stadium: Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Jerusalem, and the Israel national football team for select home matches. The stadium is named after long-time Jerusalem mayor Teddy Kollek, who was in office during the time of its construction and was one of its prominent advocates. History For Beitar, the stadium was a major upgrade after years of playing at the YMCA Stadium, nicknamed "The Sandbox". In the first stage, only the west and east sides of the stadium were built, giving it a capacity of 14,500. In 1999, work was finished on a north side which contains capacity of 8000 seats. UEFA Stadium Categories
UEFA stadium categories are categories for association football, football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Using these regulations, stadiums are rated as category one, two, three, or four (renamed from elite) in ascending ranking order. These categories replaced the previous method of ranking stadiums on one to five star scale in 2006. A stadium must be rated as category four in order to host games in the playoffs of the qualifying stage for the UEFA Champions League, or any game in the main competition. Category four is also required to host any game in the main competition of the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Nations League or the UEFA European Championship final tournament. La Familia (Beitar Supporters' Group)
La Familia is an ultras group which supports the Israeli Premier League club Beitar Jerusalem. The group primarily consists of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish descendants of the Jewish exodus from Arab and Muslim countries and is known for its far-right, ultranationalist rhetoric. Organization La Familia first organized in 2005 and congregated in the eastern sections of Teddy Stadium. Estimates of the group's size varies with a reporter putting the number at a few hundred, while a leader said that it encompassed a network of 3,000 supporters. In 2008, a BBC correspondent said that the group was about 20% of the crowd. They are the most vocal in the stadium, and some local fans follow their gameday chants. IFAF Flag Football World Championship
IFAF Flag Football World Championship is the international championship in flag football, organized by International Federation of American Football. The men's and women's competitions are usually held in the same venue. The tournament starts with pool play to fill in the seeding and follows an elimination-style of play after that. At the end of the tournament the top teams are rewarded with Bronze (3rd), Silver (2nd) or Gold (1st). The IFAF Flag Football World Championship is held every two years in different countries. Due of Covid 19, the 2020 championships in Denmark were cancelled. The championship was rescheduled for 2021 in Jerusalem from December 6 to 8, with a record 42 teams featured, double that competing at the 2018 event in Panama. The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from September 2014 to November 2015 to determine the 23 UEFA member men's national teams joining the automatically qualified host team France in the UEFA Euro 2016 final tournament.
