'' Outrageous Fortune'' is a New Zealand comedy-drama television series, revolving around the West family. The series was created by James Griffin and Rachel Lang. ''Outrageous Fortune'' is a New Zealand family comedy crime drama television series, which ran from 12 July 2005 to 9 November 2010 on TV3. The series followed the lives of the career criminal West family after the matriarch, Cheryl (Robyn Malcolm), decided the family should go straight and abide by the law. The show was created by James Griffin and Rachel Lang and produced by South Pacific Pictures. Like the show itself, episodes took their names from Shakespeare quotations. The show concluded after 6 seasons and 107 episodes making it the longest running drama series made in New Zealand. David Fane
David Rodney Fane (born 28 December 1966) is a New Zealand actor of Samoan descent. Early life and education Fane was educated at St. Pauls College in Grey Lynn. Career Fane got into acting quite late and trained at the New Zealand Drama School Toi Whakaari, graduating with a Diploma in Acting in 1992, which he upgraded to a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) in 2003. He first appeared on television in a sketch comedy show called SKITZ alongside future Naked Samoans Oscar Kightley and Robbie Magasiva. He then did the sitcom spinoff "The Semisis" in which he played the father and the minister. In 2004 he performed in a play written by Oscar Kightley and Dave Andrews called ''Niu Sila''. Charles William David Mesure (born 12 August 1970) is an English Australian actor known for his work in Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America. Birth and education Mesure was born in Somerset, England. When he was five, his family moved to Australia and he grew up in Sydney.
