Ted Roop
Ted Roop is a Canadian radio and media personality, and one of the presenters of ''Roop, Wix and Meg In The Morning'', which has been broadcasting on ''104.1 The Dock ( CICZ-FM)'' since March 3, 2008. Roop is also Director of Programming for The Dock's parent company, Larche Communications, which has three other broadcasting licenses. Childhood and early life Roop began working as a child actor at the age of eight, appearing in more than 30 television and radio commercials, including Pizza Hut, Wrangler Jeans, and McCain French Fries. CICZ-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 104.1 FM in Midland, Ontario. The station, owned by Bell Media, airs an adult hits format branded as ''Bounce 104.1''. History Midland-Penetang Broadcasting Ltd. opened CKMP 1230 AM on July 1, 1959 with studios at 196 Dominion Avenue in Downtown Midland. The "MP" in the call letters was for the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene. CKMP was home to many well-known announcers, including Jim Van Horne, Brian Henderson, Dan McLean and Ken Rowland. The studios moved in 1990 to a new facility on Cranston Crescent off Highway 12 in Midland, in a facility that also housed Telemedia's community newspapers. Midland is a town located on Georgian Bay in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Huronia/Wendat region of Central Ontario. Paul Rennée Belobersycky (born July 21, 1972), known professionally as Paul Brandt, is a Canadian country music artist. Growing up in Calgary, he was a pediatric RN at the time of his big break. George Canyon (born Frederick George Lays, August 22, 1970) is a Canadian country music singer. He was the runner up on the second season of ''Nashville Star'' in 2004. Jason McCoy (born Jason Dwight Campsall on August 27, 1970) is a Canadian country singer-songwriter. CICS-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts at 91.7 FM in Sudbury, Ontario. The station airs a country format, branded as ''Pure Country 91.7''. The studio and offices are located at 699 Frood Road in Sudbury, and the station transmits a 50,000 watt signal from the CBC tower. History Originally owned by Larche Communications, the station was licensed by the CRTC on July 12, 2007. CICX-FM (105.9 MHz) is a radio station in Orillia, Ontario. Owned by Bell Media, it broadcasts a country format branded as '' Pure Country 106''. The studio and office is located in Orillia while its transmitter is located near The Horseshoe Valley. History The station was originally launched in 1943, broadcasting at 1450 AM in Nobel, with the call sign CFPS. Following the end of World War II, the station's owner, Gordon Ellesworth Smith, wanted to affiliate the station with CBC Radio's Dominion Network, but without a feed line to get CBC programming to the station, this was not possible in Nobel, so in the summer of 1945, the station was shut down and moved to Orillia, where it relaunched on September 3 as 1450 CFOR.
