Ted Howard (soccer)
Ted Howard (born July 30, 1946) is the deputy general secretary for CONCACAF, the governing football body in the Caribbean and North and Central America. He played soccer for the Chico Wild Cats at California State University between 1965 and 1967. He also served as assistant soccer coach for the soccer team during the 1968, 1969, and 1970 seasons and helped coach the Wildcats to two Western Regional Championships during those years. He was named to the City Of Chico Hall of Fame in 2011. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing (graduating ''cum laude''), and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Blue Key, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Fraternity. In 1971, Howard completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Chico State. North American Soccer League (1968–1984)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was the top-level major professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1968 to 1984. It was the first soccer league to be successful on a national scale in the United States. The league final was called the Soccer Bowl from 1975 to 1983 and the Soccer Bowl Series in its final year, 1984. The league was headed by Commissioner Phil Woosnam from 1969 to 1983. Charles Gordon Blazer (April 26, 1945 – July 12, 2017) was an American soccer administrator, who held a number of high level positions before becoming a government informant on widespread corruption within organized soccer. He was a FIFA Executive Committee member from 1996 to 2013, the CONCACAF general secretary from 1990 to 2011, and executive vice president of the U.S. Soccer Federation.
