Ted Howard (author)
Ted Howard (born 1950, Ohio) is a political activist and author. He is the founder and Executive Director of The Democracy Collaborative, as well as chairman of the board of ocean advocacy group Blue Frontier Campaign. He was the Minter Senior Fellow for Social Justice with the Cleveland Foundation from 2010-2014. Career Howard has been involved with the Evergreen Cooperatives in Cleveland, Ohio, which was based in part on the Mondragon Cooperatives in the Basque Region of Spain. Characterized in press accounts as "The Cleveland Model," Evergreen is an effort to create green jobs in low-income neighborhoods using the purchasing power of the City's anchor institutions (hospitals, universities, etc.) to create local worker cooperative businesses. Ted Howard (conservationist)
Thomas Edward Howard is a New Zealand conservationist. Career Howard has a Bachelor of Science in zoology (marine ecology) from the University of Auckland, where he studied under John Morton. Howard has more than 30 years of commercial fishing experience. He began his career in the industry in the Firth of Thames before moving to work based out of Wellington, Greymouth and Nelson. He has coastal and deep-sea maritime qualifications and has worked for the Fishing Industry Board as a technical advisor. Howard has also been president of the New Zealand Recreational Fishing Council, an organisation that lobbies for the sustainable management of fisheries in New Zealand, for the benefit of recreational fishers. Ted Howard (18 June 1868 – 26 April 1939), born as Edwin John Harney, was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party, and the father of cabinet minister Mabel Howard. He had been a prominent member of the New Zealand Socialist Party, a precursor to the Labour Party. Biography Early life and career Ted Howard was born as Edwin John Harney in Bristol, England, in 1868 to Edwin John Harney (a house painter) and his wife Sarah Ann Osgood who later ran a theatrical company. He was educated at Plymouth before leaving school at 16. He joined the Royal Navy as an ordinary seaman. He was married on 12 February 1889 in Christchurch, New Zealand, to Harriett Garard Goring. In March 1891 he jumped ship in Auckland and took the name Edwin John Howard before joining up again with Harriett in Australia. Ted Howard (soccer)
Ted Howard (born July 30, 1946) is the deputy general secretary for CONCACAF, the governing football body in the Caribbean and North and Central America. He played soccer for the Chico Wild Cats at California State University between 1965 and 1967. He also served as assistant soccer coach for the soccer team during the 1968, 1969, and 1970 seasons and helped coach the Wildcats to two Western Regional Championships during those years. He was named to the City Of Chico Hall of Fame in 2011. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing (graduating ''cum laude''), and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Blue Key, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Fraternity.
