Ted Collis
Edward Alfred Collis (12 June 1921 – 3 March 1971) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Thomas William Collis (1896–1955), and Auriel Annie Collis (1892–1973), Edward Alfred Collis was born at Hobart, Tasmania on 12 June 1921. The North Hobart Football Club, nicknamed ''The Demons'', is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Tasmanian State League. The club returned to the state league in 2018 after its position was effectively filled by a new club, the Hobart City Football Club after the 2013 season. The club (i.e. North Hobart) was part of the Tasmanian Football League from the early 1900s through to 2001, where the club joined Southern Football League. In 2009, the club was invited into the second reincarnation of the statewide league where it remained until 2013. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was founded in 1902 in the inner-east suburb of Hawthorn, making it the youngest Victorian-based team in the AFL. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. Jack Metherell
Jack Rogers Metherell (9 November 1912 – 30 November 1992) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the VFL during the 1930s. He was the younger brother of teammate Len Metherell. Metherell came to Geelong from Western Australia and made his league debut in 1932. A half forward for most of his career, he topped Geelong's goalkicking in 1934, 1936 and 1937.
