Ted Barela is an American Republican politician formerly serving in the New Mexico Senate. He was appointed by Governor Susana Martinez in 2015 to replace Phil Griego, who resigned. Liz Stefanics
Elizabeth T. Stefanics (born November 9, 1950), is an American politician from New Mexico, currently serving in the New Mexico Senate and previously on the Santa Fe County Commission. She was the first openly LGBT member of the New Mexico legislature, serving a single four-year term that began in January 1993. Early life and career Stefanics was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio but moved to New Mexico to teach at the University of New Mexico in 1982. The daughter of an airplane mechanic and a secretary, she earned three college degrees. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University, before doing a masters in resource management at the University of Wisconsin and earning a doctorate in administration and law from the University of Minnesota. Estancia is a town in Torrance County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 1,242. It is the county seat of Torrance County. Estancia is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. Susana Martinez
Susana Martinez (born July 14, 1959) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 31st governor of New Mexico from 2011 to 2019. A Republican, she served as chair of the Republican Governors Association (RGA) from 2015 to 2016. She was the first female Governor of New Mexico, and the first Hispanic female governor in the United States. Born in El Paso, Texas, Martinez is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. After being admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, she began her prosecuting career in 1986 as an Assistant District Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District of New Mexico, based in Las Cruces.
