Team Dressage At The 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games
The team dressage at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy was held at Stade Michel d'Ornano on 25 and 26 August 2014. German team won gold medal, their first World Equestrian Games gold in team dressage since 2006. The silver medal was won by the British team while the Dutch team, the defending champions, won the bronze medal. Competition format The team scores were based on the Grand Prix results. In order to compete, team had to have three or four riders entered. Grand Prix results were also used for the individual dressage competition. Dressage ( or ; a French term, most commonly translated to mean "training") is a form of horse riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an art sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery. As an equestrian sport defined by the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is described as "the highest expression of horse training" where "horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements." Diederik Van Silfhout
Diederik van Silfhout (born 20 April 1988 in Ede, Netherlands) is a Dutch Olympic dressage rider. Representing the Netherlands, he competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics where he placed 4th in the team and 11th in the individual competitions. Van Silfhout also competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France, where he won a team bronze medal and placed 9th in the freestyle dressage competition. He competed in Normandy as a late replacement for Danielle Heijkoop, who was forced to withdraw after her horse sustained injury. He also competed at the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen where he won a gold medal in team dressage. The Dutch national dressage coach Wim Ernes died on 1 November 2016 due to a brain tumor. Tinne Eva Caroline Vilhelmson-Silfvén (born 12 July 1967 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish horse rider. Representing Sweden, she competed at seven Summer Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). She placed 4th in team dressage in 1992, and in team dressage in Beijing in 2008.
