Team Tyco
''Team Tyco'' is a Bermudian Volvo Ocean 60 yacht, designed by Farr Yacht Design in 2000, and built by Eric Goetz Custom Sailboats in Rhode Island. She competed in the 2001–02 Volvo Ocean Race and finished fourth overall, skippered by Kevin Shoebridge. The yacht is currently owned by Roy Heiner and has been brought back into racing condition, and now has the name "Team Heiner One". It is usually located in Den Helder (Netherlands), or Portimão (South Portugal). Team Heiner mostly uses the boat for corporate events and management training, but also for competitions such as the Antwerp Race or a spectacular round around Ireland. 2005–2006 Volvo Ocean Race
The 2005–06 Volvo Ocean Race was held between 5 November 2005 and 17 June 2006. Seven boats took part in the race and made ten stops in nine countries. The 2005–06 race was the first to not begin in the United Kingdom. The course of was divided into 9 legs, and would take over 8 months to complete. A new class of boat, the Volvo Open 70 was introduced: The new boats were 2m longer and about 1,000 kg lighter than the VO60's used in the previous race. They were also allowed to have more sail area and include the use of canting keels. During Leg 7 of the race, Hans Horrevoets, 32, of the Netherlands was swept overboard from ''ABN AMRO II''. VO60
The Whitbread 60 (W60), later known as the Volvo Ocean 60 (VO60), was a class of ocean racing yacht built to a " box rule" specifying key design parameters of the 10 smaller yachts which took part the 1993–94 Whitbread Round the World Race. The class raced with such success that the following race was restricted to Whitbread 60s only. Its design was used for the last time in the 2001–02 Volvo Ocean Race, replaced thereafter by the sophisticated, canting keel Volvo Open 70, built to a new box rule.
