Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom
The Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom was an entry level One-make, Touring car racing motor sport category and the current name in the long history of Renault one-make cups in the UK. It currently attracts drivers from across the United Kingdom to compete along with several drivers for European countries. The championship has been run to various regulations over the years, and can trace its history back to 1974. Several former drivers have become successful in other Touring car racing formulae, including Andy Priaulx, who went on to become multiple World Touring Car Championship champion and Jason Plato who is multiple British Touring Car Championship champion. The championship currently runs on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship. Daniel Lloyd (racing Driver)
Daniel Lloyd (born 4 March 1992) is a British racing car driver and the 2009 champion of the Renault Clio UK Winter Cup. Lloyd was born in Huddersfield. After competing in the Skip Barber National Championship in the first half of 2010, he made his début in the British Touring Car Championship at Croft. In 2011 he raced in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup, qualifying on pole in his debut race and eventually scored two victories and finished third in the championship. For 2012, he raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain series with Team Parker Racing and scored his first victory in round 6 in the monsoon conditions at Thruxton, just beating rival Glynn Geddie. The ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship is a touring car racing series based in Germany. History On 16 September 2015, the German Series was launched by ADAC and Engstler Motorsport, who already run in the International Series. Brands Hatch
Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. Originally used as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently hosts many British and International racing events. Rockingham Motor Speedway is a former racing motorsport venue in Rockingham, Northamptonshire, England, United Kingdom, near the town of Corby. It hosted professional and club races, as well as testing, track days, driver training, exhibitions and conferences. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Chris Swanwick
Christopher James Swanwick (born 22 October 1993 in Nottingham, England) is a British racing driver. He is best known for having competed in the British Touring Car Championship, he made his début on 2 October 2011 at Brands Hatch. Career History Karting Swanwick was a relative late starter to karting, starting in 2003 at the age of 9 in Formula cadets where he did his novice plates. He quickly progressed and by the end of the next year won the Comer cadets, North Regional Final. Not being happy to stay in cadets for another year, Swanwick decided to move up to Mini Max for the 2005 season, and by the end of the year was a regular on the podium at Wombwell. 2011 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom Season
The 2011 AirAsia Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom season will begin at Brands Hatch on 3 April and will finish after 16 races over 8 events at Brands Hatch on 2 October. The season will support rounds of the British Touring Car Championship. On 28 February, AirAsia X was announced as title sponsor to the series in a three-year deal. Rule changes The 2011 season will see several rules introduced in an effort to cut costs for competitors to an annual budget of approximately £60,000. These changes including a reduction in the number of rounds from 20 to 16, a reduction in tyre allocation from 60 slick tyres per year to 48 and a reduction of official test days and a freedom of test venue introduced. Jack Goff (born 6 March 1991) is a British auto racing driver. He was the 2012 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom champion. He made his debut in the British Touring Car Championship on 31 March 2013 at Brands Hatch, driving for RCIB Insurance Racing. The 2017 and 2018 British Touring Car Championship seasons saw Jack driving for Eurotech Racing in a Honda Civic Type R. Dave Newsham
David Newsham (born 7 July 1967) is a British auto racing driver and businessman. He is the managing director of Norscott Vending. He raced in the British Touring Car Championship from 2011 to 2017, but in 2016, he competed in the British Rallycross Championship, only entering two rounds of the BTCC in place of Kelvin Fletcher. He announced his retirement from the BTCC on 9 January 2018. Philip Glew (born 28 June 1983 in Grimsby) is a British auto racing driver. He has previously competed in the British Touring Car Championship and British GT Championship. He is currently a commentator for ITV Sport's coverage support races on the TOCA Tour.
