Team Northumbria Football Club is a football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne. They are the football team of Northumbria University and currently play in the BUCS Premier North League. History The club was founded in 1999 as Northumbria University Football Club and joined Division Two of the Northern Alliance.Northern Alliance 1990–2001 Non-League Matters In 2001–02 they were Division Two runners-up, earning promotion to Division One. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup.
