Team Ibis Cycles (UCI code: DPD) was an UCI elite women's cycling team based in the United Kingdom in 2012. The team was founded as a non UCI team in 2011 called Specialized-DPD Pakketservice. It competed in road bicycle racing events, including UCI Women's Road World Cup events. The title sponsor is an American bicycle brand. The team announced at the end of 2012 that they would stop due to financial problems. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads. Eileen Roe
Eileen Roe (born 24 September 1989) is a Scottish racing cyclist, who most recently rode professionally for UCI Women's Team . Roe was the winner of the 2014 and 2016 British National Circuit Race Championships. Biography Born in Dunfermline, Roe began competitive cycling at the age of 10. She has been employed at the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative on a part-time basis for several years, which allowed her the time to dedicate to her cycling career. In October 2014 the team announced that Roe would join them with immediate effect to ride in the Australian criterium season and the subsequent 2015 season. Roe joined Belgian team for the 2016 season. From 2017, Roe became a member of the squad. The 2012 UCI Women's Road World Cup was the 15th edition of the UCI Women's Road World Cup. The calendar was to retain the same races as the 2011 edition, with the only change being the rescheduling of the Ronde van Drenthe to be the first race, until the GP Ciudad de Valladolid was cancelled for financial reasons. Annemiek Van Vleuten was the defending champion. The Sparkassen Giro Bochum is a road bicycle race which is annually held for both men's and women's around an urban circuit in the German city of Bochum, Germany. Since 2005 the men's race is part of the UCI Europe Tour, being organised as UCI race classifications, 1.1 race. UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's Omnium
The Women's omnium at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships was first contested in 2009 in Poland. The format of the multi-race endurance event ("Omnium" coming from the Latin ''Omnia'', for all) has evolved rapidly since its introduction in 2009. In its first iteration, the competition consisted of 5 events over a single day; a 'flying lap', a time trial over 200 metres with a rolling start, a scratch race, an individual pursuit time trial, a points race, and a 500 metre time trial. Riders were awarded points to match their placing in each event (1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, etc) and the lowest cumulative score won the competition, with tie-breaks broken by cumulative times in the timed elements of the race. Cycling At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The cycling competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place at five venues between 28 July and 12 August. The venues were the London Velopark for track cycling and BMX, and Hadleigh Farm, in Essex, for mountain biking. The road races took place over a course starting and ending in The Mall in central London and heading out into Surrey, while the time trials started and finished at Hampton Court Palace in Richmond upon Thames. Eighteen events were contested and around 500 athletes participated. Cycling events have been contested in every Summer Olympics programme since the first modern Olympiad in 1896 alongside athletics, artistic gymnastics, fencing and swimming.
