Team BMR
Team BMR was a British motor racing team based in Buntingford, Hertfordshire and founded by Warren Scott. The team raced in the British Touring Car Championship between 2013 and 2019 after previously entering the 2004 British Superbike Championship season as ''BMR Racing''. During the winter of 2013, Scott purchased Tony Gilham Racing's assets, including their four NGTC race cars. Warren Scott (born 28 September 1971 in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire) is a British race driver. He has previously competed in the British Touring Car Championship with his self-run Team BMR. He has also raced in the British Superbike Championship. Racing career British Superbike Championship Scott rode a BMR Racing Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at the 2004 British Superbike Championship season, finishing 18th in the Privateers Cup standings. 1997 British Touring Car Championship Season
The 1997 Auto Trader RAC British Touring Car Championship was won by Alain Menu of the Williams Renault Dealer Racing team, driving a Renault Laguna. Menu dominated the year, setting a record of 12 wins during the season. The runner up was Frank Biela of Audi Sport UK in an Audi A4 Quattro. Third place was Menu's teammate, Jason Plato. In the independent class the championship was won by Robb Gravett in a Honda Accord. Jack Goff (born 6 March 1991) is a British auto racing driver. He was the 2012 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom champion. He made his debut in the British Touring Car Championship on 31 March 2013 at Brands Hatch, driving for RCIB Insurance Racing. The 2017 and 2018 British Touring Car Championship seasons saw Jack driving for Eurotech Racing in a Honda Civic Type R. John Thorne (racing Driver)
John Barnaby Thorne (born 14 April 1969 in Burnham, Buckinghamshire) is a British businessman and auto racing driver. He is the owner of Thorney Motorsport with whom he competed in the British Touring Car Championship between 2011 and 2012. Racing career Early years Thorne's motorsport career began in 2007 when he competed in the Production BMW Championship, taking one win and one fastest lap. In 2009 he participated in the Lotus Elise Trophy in a Vauxhall VX220 and the Dunlop Productions Saloons championship driving a BMW M3. Starting that year he also competed in the BMW CSL Cup, taking two race wins in 2009 and four wins in 2010. The 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship was a multi-event motor racing championship for production-based touring cars held across England and Scotland. The Volkswagen CC, originally marketed as the Volkswagen Passat CC in its first generation, is a variant of the Volkswagen Passat that trades headroom and cargo space for a coupé-like profile and sweeping roofline. The CC debuted in January 2008, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and was discontinued after the 2017 model year. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, it is situated on the A11 road north-east of the town of Thetford and south-west of the city of Norwich. Super 2000
Super 2000 is an FIA powertrain specification used in the World Rally Championship, the British Touring Car Championship, the World Touring Car Championship, and other touring car championships. The engines were originally 2 L naturally aspirated, and later being also allowed 1.6 L turbocharged units producing approximately 280 bhp. The goal of the Super 2000 classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car. In order to cut costs and shorten development time, the Super 2000 rally cars originally used a common control gearbox and drivetrain made by a French company, Sadev. The FIA has since announced that Xtrac and Ricardo Consulting Engineers will be allowed to also manufacture S2000 gearboxes to FIA specification.
