"Te Extraño" (English: "I Miss You") is a song by American group Xtreme. It serve as the first single for their self titled debut album, '' Xtreme'' (2005). The song was originally recorded in 2003 for their original first album, ''We Got Next'' (2003). They were independent at the time until they were signed with Sergio George Sergio George (born May 23, 1961) is an American pianist, arranger, and record producer, known for working with many famous performers of salsa music, although he has worked in other genres of the music industry as well. He has worked with som ...'s SGZ Entertainment in 2005 and then remade the song in 2005 as their debut single. An R&B version is also included on both albums. Xtreme (group)
Xtreme is an American music duo consisting of members Danny D (born as Danny Mejía on July 23, 1985) and Steve Styles (born as Steven Tejada on November 25, 1985) of Dominican descent. The duo focuses on the Latin genre bachata. Xtreme was formed in 2003 and since then has enjoyed success among Hispanics in the United States. The original line up included another vocalist name Elvis Rosario, who was also a guitarist in the group. He left after 2005 or 2006. History The beginning The group was discovered in 2003 by Andre "Dre" Hidalgo. He is the owner and founder of the independent record label 2 Strong Music, which had started the careers of Bachata artists and groups such as Aventura and Prince Royce. Dre discovered Danny D at age 17. Later on he added Elvis Rosario to the lineup. Danny and Rosario were the original members. The album was later re-issued under the Univision Music Group label after their acquisition of SGZ International. Bachata (music)
Bachata is a genre of music that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 20th century. It is a fusion of southwestern European influences, mainly Spanish guitar music, with indigenous Taino and Sub Saharan African musical elements, representative of the cultural diversity of the Dominican population. Latin Airplay is a chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine in the United States. It was established on October 20, 2012. This chart lists the 50 most-played songs on Spanish-language radio stations across the country as monitored by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) weighted to each station's Nielsen ratings. It is based on the Hot Latin Songs chart's former methodology prior to October 20, 2012 which was revamped afterwards to rank the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on streaming, digital downloads, and airplay from all radio stations in the US.
